About CMC Vellore Exam – Christian Medical College Vellore
Christian Medical College Vellore, (CMC Vellore Common Entrance Test) which is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai, holds an all-India entrance test every year to select students for admission into various under-graduate level medical and para-medical courses offered by it.

Any candidate interested to take the MBBS course from the CMC college will be required to be an Indian citizen who has completed 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination conducted the Tamil Nadu Higher secondary Board or any other board or examination that is recognized by the college or University.
It is mandatory for the candidates to have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects in their final 2 years of higher secondary school course.
The minimum qualifying marks as defined by the State Government are: 60% for BC students and 40% marks for SC/ST students in Biology subject.
CMC Vellore Selection Process:
All candidates whose applications are in order and complete will be registered and go through the competitive process of Entrance Examinations and Interviews for selection. All admissions are based on merit.
The College recognizes that merit is not merely academic merit but is, in addition, a collection of various other factors, which go towards suitability to pursue a professional career.
The selection process / admission will be subject to any orders passed or that may be passed by the Government / University / Professional Councils.
The syllabus for the common entrance tests (unless otherwise specified) conducted by CMC Vellore is a mixture of ‘plus two’ level boards recognised by the TN Dr MGR. Med University. Papers will be in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Ability including Speed and Accuracy and a few questions on current topical interest.
Wherever there is a special paper, the syllabus would be based on the qualifying examination required for the subject. Please see the course description in the prospectus
CMC Vellore Admission Procedure:
The admission to the MBBS course of the CMC College will be based on the marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the qualifying competitive entrance test.
The students who have scored good marks in the entrance test will be called by the college for a final interview and practical test.
Only students who pass these tests will be given admission to the MBBS course offered by the college.

CMC Vellore Exam Pattern:
All candidates have to go through a competitive entrance test followed by practical test and interviews.
The entrance test is consists of multiple-choice objective type questions.
Paper contains questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Ability with emphasis on Speed and Accuracy and a few questions on Issues of Current Topical Interest.
The duration of the whole exam is 3 hours and 10 minutes.
There are 60 questions each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (120 minutes total) and 120 questions in General Ability with emphasis on Speed and Accuracy and on Issues of Current Topical Interest (70 minutes).
Performance in this test is the basis of a call for practical tests and interviews and final selections.
