What is AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam?
AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) is one of the most prestigious institutions in India. AIIMS MBBS Exam is held for the admission of students to the MBBS course offered by the institution. The students have to secure very high marks in the Entrance Test in order to get admission in this institutes of their choice.

Candidates should be a Citizen of India and have attained the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on 31st Dec of the year of admission and above.
Candidates should have passed 12th Class examination under 10+2 Scheme or an equivalent examination of a recognized Board with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in 4 subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for AIIMS test.
For SC/ST candidates 50% marks in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
AIIMS MBBS Exam Pattern:
The Exam will be of 3½ hours duration and will have one paper consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge.
AIIMS MBBS Subjects – No. of Questions:
Physics – 60; Chemistry – 60; Biology (Botany and Zoology) – 60; General Knowledge – 20
Total Questions – 200
The general standard of the Exam will be that of 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Intermediate Science.
No syllabus for the examination has been prescribed by AIIMS.
Question Paper Language:
Question paper will be provided in English as well as in Hindi languages, candidates can choose their language according to their choice. A candidate must select in the space provided in the application form whether he/she prefers to have the question paper in English or Hindi.
Note: Language choice cannot be changed later at any stage.
AIIMS MBBS Marking Scheme:
- Incorrect responses will be given negative marks.
- Each correct response will get a score of one mark and each incorrect response will get a score of -1/3 (minus-one-third).
- No credit will be given for the questions not answered.
- More than one response will be treated as wrong answer and negatively marked.
AIIMS MBBS – Six New AIIMS Institutions
From August 2013, Six New AIIMS like Institutions (viz: Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Raipur and Bhubaneswar) will start with an intake of 100 students each.
The reservation policy followed will be 7.5% ST, 15% SC and 27% OBC.
For Indian Nationals, 3% reservation for Orthopedic physically handicapped shall be provided on horizontal basis, in the seats available.
